Continuation of Violence Unacceptable: Karzai

Continuation of Violence Unacceptable: Karzai

KABUL - War and the destruction associated with it does not offer a solution to any problem, President Hamid Karzai said in his weekly radio address to the nation.
Receiving money and weapons from foreigners, the Taliban and other insurgent groups were killing Afghans and destroying their country’s infrastructure during the holy month of Ramadan, he regretted.

About recent attacks in Uruzgan and Nangarhar provinces, the president said: "The enemies of humanity and Islam benefit from such incidents that bring a bad name to our religion.''

The continuation of murder and mayhem was unacceptable to all Muslims and human beings with some information about Islamic teachings, Karzai remarked. Continuing violent acts were violation of the Islamic philosophy.
Addressing the insurgents, Karzai said: "Killing and depriving children of education is forbidden by Islam. Give up such acts and return to your country.''

"If you are not behind these acts, then as Muslims and Afghans, you must publicly repudiate your involvement to let Afghans know who their enemies are," the president concluded. (Pajhwok)
