Presence of Tribes, Strata in Govt. Right of All Afghans: Khalili

KABUL - While minister of refugees and returners Jamahir Anwari and two senators of Turkmen were present, second vice president, Mohammad Karim Khalili met with Turkmen elders the other day and discussed the local problem of Turkmen.
First, Turkmen representatives expressed their concern over Tsunami of Oxus River that changed their residential areas into the bed of river and said that if attention is not paid, most parts of Qarqeen and Khan Aab district to be changed into a bed of river.
They demanded from the government to prevent from further damages, the measures should be adopted toward cementing of the banks of Oxus River and they also demanded the Natural Disaster Management Authority to investigate the situation of those families are displaced by water flow of Oxus River, they also expressed their dissatisfaction over the presence and share of Turkmen tribes in government administrations and asked the leading body of government to focus to justice and participation of tribes, pay heed toward presence of Turkmen in government offices and local organs.

Generation and transmission of power lines, agriculture irrigation, carpet industry, countering with drought in living areas of Turkmen and distribution of scholarship in Afghanistan were the issues that they discussed with vice president.

Afterwards, expressing his happiness for this meeting second vice president Mohammad Karim Khalili regarding the worminess’s of Turkmen people’s dignitaries based on tsunami of Oxus River said that the government has in its hand short and long term programs for cementing of the banks of Oxus River and efforts are made to prevent from further destruction of surrounding areas of the river.

Khalili said that presence of tribes and different strata of the society in government administration is their right and the government respects the principle of justice and participation of tribes in government organs. (BNA)
