KABUL - Afghanistan will never return to the situation it was in the past decade, President Hamid Karzai assured the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton in New York, presidential office said Tuesday in a statement.

"In a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, the two sides talked on the peace process, insider attacks on the foreign troops and transfer of the rest inmates in Bagram detention center," the statement said.
Clinton expressed hope that the ongoing peace talks would have a positive consequence, according to the statement.

Karzai criticized the incorrect reports issued by the western media on the future of Afghanistan, saying such baseless reports and articles put negative impacts on the public opinions and would overshadow the government's achievements and successes in the past 11 years. (WNA)
