Neighbors Must End Two-Faced Behavior: Stanikzai

KABUL - A senior Afghanistan High Peace Council official has asked neighboring countries to stop their two-faced behavior in perusing peace and stability in Afghanistan.
"Peace in Afghanistan and its neighbors are interlinked," Masoom Stanikzai, the high peace council secretariat head, told a gathering in Kabul late on Thursday.

Without naming any country, he said that neighboring countries had to diversely change their policies and approach towards Afghanistan and had to support the Afghans in their efforts at achieving peace.

Stanikzai said Afghans themselves had to make every effort possible to bring about peace and stability to their country.

He said peace needed unity, for which high officials had to shun promoting their own selfish interests and play their part in the peace campaign.

Stanikzai said making peace with the insurgents did not mean any retreat, but a move forward towards a stable, prosperous and peaceful Afghanistan. (Pajhwok)
