Khulm Gets Power  Substation, Energy  Infrastructure Contract

Contract worth US $9million has been signed by Minister of Energy & Water and Siemens CEO

KABUL - In continuation of financial assistance from KfW, Germany's Development Bank, an essential Energy infrastructure contract worth US $9million has been signed by Minister of Energy & Water Al Hajj Mohammad Ismael and Siemens CEO Raaz Hassan.

This power station is a part of North Eastern Power System projects connecting northern towns and communities, will further strengthen the capacity of country's energy distribution network while energizing 16000 families in Khulm District of Balkh Province.

The execution of the project is on a turnkey basis and shall be completed within 24 months; the scope of works for this green field Energy project includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a 220/20kV Substation outside Khulm in North Afghanistan.

The substation with two line bays of 220kV circuit breakers will be connected to the existing 220kV overhead line from Uzbekistan to Kabul. (PR)
