Officials Behind Increased Terror Attacks: Senators

KABUL - The Afghan Senators on Tuesday said that several high ranking officials within the government are helping the insurgents carry out their activities in different parts of the country.

They added that these officials also have close ties with the intelligence agencies of neighboring countries.

The Senators said that all terror attacks are planned in the Pakistani territory and they will never stop intervening into Afghanistan's internal matters.

"Some of the government officials help in bringing the suicide bombers into several parts of the country including Kabul. The government does not want to prevent suicide attacks," Senator Daoud Asas said.

While the Afghan Senators praised the security forces' efforts in preventing suicide attacks, at the same time, they believe that the insurgents will not be able to launch their attacks if they don't have support of the government officials.

"A number of government officials are cooperating with insurgents groups on the orders received from the neighboring countries. These countries never want peace and stability in Afghanistan," Senator Farida Kochi said.

"Terror attacks have increased in the last month and our intelligence organizations are not doing enough to prevent such attacks," Senator Zahra Sharifi said.

Meanwhile, the Senate Speaker, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar said that the terror groups will never agree for negotiations until the government does not put military pressure on these groups.

The Senators suggested that government should review its policy to fight the armed insurgent groups and it should not play with the fate of people. (Tolo News)
