“Russia, Afghanistan Having Ample  Capacities for Expansion of Relations”: Khalili

KABUL - The Russian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Energy of that country met Mohammad Karim Khalili Second Vice-President and exchanged views with respect to different economic, trade and political spheres.

At the meeting the head of the Russian delegation who is also leading the Russian side of joint governmental commission of trade and economic cooperation between the two nations, said that his country is willing to expand relations with Afghanistan in different spheres.

He stressed that the joint bilateral cooperation commission can open new horizons in relations between the two countries.
While the Russian ambassador to Afghanistan was also present, the head of Russian delegation pointing to the volume of trade exchanges making close to USD one billion, added that the government and private investors of Russian Federation are prepared to invest and cooperate in infrastructural projects in Afghanistan.

He considered building of roads, tunnel making, railway construction, petroleum and gas and energy are areas that can be considered as spheres of economic cooperation between the two nations.

Touching on the importance of KASA-1000 project he expressed the readiness of his government on the transfer of electricity from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan and from Afghanistan to Pakistan as well the TAPI project covering transfer of gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India.
