Khalili Chairs Meetings of National Disasters’ Management Authority

KABUL - Second Vice-President, Mohammad Karim Khalili, on Wednesday chaired the meeting of National Disasters’ Management Authority during which he heard a report by the deputy chairman of the committee with respect to the implementation of its previous decisions.

According to presidential press office, on the basis of this report necessary food aid were provided to the displaced families of Badghis and Herat and the approved emergency aid was sent to Ghor while the process for distribution of 6,000 tons of wheat in the province has started.

Transfer of wheat to Parwan, Wardak, Paktika, Daikundi, Laghman and other provinces also started. Also, sending of the allocation of 3,000 metric tons of wheat to Nuristan has started.

All the participants of this meeting expressed preparedness for addressing probable disaster in winter and assured the committee and the meeting emphasized on distribution of the allocated aid among the people in Nuristan.

Meanwhile, the representatives of Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates, OUCHA and WFP assured the meeting of covering the refugees in Ghour, Badghis and Herat. The Ministers of Rehabilitation and Rural Development and Public Health assured the meeting of dispatching aid to the people of Pamir and Wakhan of Badakhshan as well. (BNA)
