KABUL - Head of IEC Secretariat, Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhail, said all pending tasks that have not been completed will be completed this week to prevent any shortages during Election Day. These include the review of election employee placements, transfer of election materials to polling sites and much more.

"Distribution of cards to observers will be reviewed until Friday," Amarkhail said. "Transfer of critical election materials to polling centers will be completed by Friday evening and security will also be reviewed. The IEC has taken special preparations for the historical event to take place next Saturday. These reviews are to assure people there is no deficiency during elections."

Meanwhile, the Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan is one of the many local organizations that will overlook voting during Election Day. FEFA officials said based on the data gathered the number of people participating in this year's election is high.

"Technical preparations for IEC such as transferring of critical material to polling centers, preparations for elections, security of the polling centers, all have been taken to assure security of elections," head of FEFA Nader Naderi said.
