Dear Editor,

Corruption and poverty are linked together and mounted for destruction and backwardness which are now experiencing in Afghanistan. The high rate of corruption and poverty are age old maladies that can never be eradicated if it continues in the same way among the high profile authorities.

As poverty, so in corruption, there is a giver and a taker in the form of gift. A demand is made and the demand is met. It is here that the role of regulation comes in; to limit the influence of the malaise on society, so as to ensure a healthy transition of civility and role of worse law to a better and formal one for future generations.

What have we done so far for our nation and country since the fall of the Taliban? to answer, nothing except to find ways for taking bribe making things done and to bypass all such regulations while showcasing pretence of civility! We have all been forced over tome to part of this exercise, all in the name of getting ahead as quick as we can on killing the rights of poor to meet your exact target, no matter what it costs.
As the sayings goes on, "Too much of everything spoils the taste". Too much for the ones who could lay their hands on and too little for the rest; hence the upheaval.

I recollect an instance from an story. I was privy to a pleading by a have not to a saying; "Please Dad, you may kick me in my back but please don't kick me in my stomach" Sending people behind bars is akin to kicking a person in his back. Decimating his ill gotten asset is akin to kicking him in his stomach.
The reverberations will be resounding and the lesson to the people who think that the law is an ass; will be remembered for a long time to come.
